J. D. Bruce, or James Douglas Bruce, or J. Douglas Bruce (1862–1923), was an Arthurian scholar.
Bruce was the author of many scholarly articles during the first half of the 20th century and is known for his 2-volume The Evolution of Arthurian Romance from the Beginnings down to the Year 1300, published in 1928.
Bruce was also known for his disbelief that oral tradition ever really existed except for retellings of written works.
